Hi, from one Stewart to another....I'm not in the least bit suggesting all this is factual; personally I haven't researched enough to even make a comment. But I do tend to agree with you; I've noted it in many lineages and lo and behold it was flushed out via DNA testing.

No, I'm not here for the glory, just chasing my Stewarts around...they were in the same SC area as the surnames we're discussing. I noted a Robert Witherspoon married first Mary Stewart in Ireland, Robert is listed as dying 1758 Williamsburg SC, and other familiar names ie Wilson and Welch re both. So tryng to connect the dots, I'm sure you know what I mean......I'm a little gun shy tho re the "Lady" Margaret Stuart in Williammsburg SC 1736/37...that perplexes me (lol)!
