Joshua Thomas Witherspoon and Melvina Dodson married 18 Aug 1841 in Maury County. I have the document. They were parents to at least 8 children. Their youngest daughter Melvina "Melville" F. married John Marion Roundtree 23 Nov 1876 IN Williamson County, She died 24 Sep 1932 in Theta TN and is buried in the McKee-Rountree Cemetery in Maury County with John Marion. The other children I have as Sarah A., Parthena J, A F, David, M L, VS, and J C. I also believe that there should be another...William. He is mentioned in the 1880 census with his step mother.

My husband is the proud owner of a portrait of Melvina and John Marion Roundtree with 2 of their 3 living children. On the back of this portrait someone wrote their names. Melvina's name is slightly different. I will have to remove the dust cover to see what it is. She is referred to as Melville on most documented information.

Johsua Thomas Witherspoon and Louisa P Mullins married 04 Apr 1858 in Maury County. I also have this document. They were parents to California, Juleta, Thomas and L T. There may be more children. The 1880 census shows Sarah, Louisa's sister in her household. Louisa is listed as head of household. Joshua appears to have died between 1870-1880.

If you will mail me I will give you all the census I have up to this point. As I said I have the marriage documents, death is the only sourced information that I need. I would be happy to have a cemetery!

Mail is ginrounATcomcast.net
