Many thanks-I am in Kentucky and haven't been to search the libraries and archives in Virginia. It would seem to me that since the Withers genealogy has been so thoroughly done, that more of the history has been investigated.
Anyway,this is my first trip to Virginia in awhile and thought I would put the question out there.

Yes, I believe that in England it was Wither, Wyther and possibly even Weather or Weathers. And I suspect that the
African American Weathers may actually be Withers descendants, but that is another guess.

I have found Potomac Run on the Google Maps, so I am "in the ballpark".
