Dear Peter,
You were probably in contact with the family of Merrick Withell, one of my cousins. Most of the Australians with the surname Withell belong to the Cornish family. I can put you onto a couple of descendants of your ancestors in Australia who are doing research who don't have the surname and I also know which ones do come from Yorkshire. All except 2 of NZ belong to your family and also nearly all of those in Canada. I have a pretty good idea of the UK ones also.
I am going to send you an email direct so I hope you don't mind. This will give you my email also
Margaret Whitaker.
