My wife's grandfather was Alvin Peter Wissler (b. 18JUN1893 d. 11MAY1969) of Wayne County IN. His father was listed in his wife's obituary as Peter B. Wissler. My MIL knows only that he was "Peter Wissler". From that point back there seems to be no trace of Peter B. He was married to Martha Elizabeth Ellabarger (b. 20SEP1851 - d. 14SEP1920). - In another family tree I found (online) they had listed Simon Peter Wissler (b. 18FEB1847 - d. 19DEC1897) as the father of my wife's grandfather (Alvin Peter). If that were the case then I have a long string going on back from there. the trouble is I can't link Simon Peter and Peter B. as being the same person. Simon Peter Wissler is listed as the son of Peter H. wissler and Cathrina Brown. - All of my wife's family is from eastern Indiana (Wayne & Henry counties) and prior to that from PA. Mostly from the Lancaster area. My wife's grandfather went back to Lancaster for family visits.
