Bob:

I am interested in the Mathias Wissinger who had children Mathias, Michael and Catherine who immigrated to Charleston, SC from Baden, Germany. I have found recent records that he resided, two to three years later, in Orangeburg, SC.

My 2nd ggfa is George W. Risner (likely a Weissinger) b. 1817 supposedly in TN but that is up for discussion - I believe he is from the Wisinger SC Line. He immigrated to Lamar Co., TX in abt. 1849 and eventually moved across the Red River to the Choctaw Nation. His children all married Choctaw or Cherokee Indian mates - quite an interesting and colorful descendancy.

Do you have anything further on this Mathias Wissinger of Charleston & Orangeburg, SC?

Clydene
