I am decended from the Wisherd family. I have traced them back with great accuracy to the 1870 at McDonough County Illinois. It is very hard to be acurate before that because they were very un-original with thier names. Most of the women are named Mary and the men either William or John or Charles. Anyway it seems like there was a big migration of Wisherds from Franklin County PA to McDonough County Ilinois around the time of the Civil war. Most of the older Wisherds from Illinois are all listed as born in Franklin PA. I would like to know if this Wisherd family is the same as the Wishard family. Maybe they are an offshoot? Would you have any information on the issue?
