I did find out that John Wiser's parents were Francis Xavier Wisr and Martina Hiffe/Hippe. They came to this country from Germany and apparently there was a name change and I have not yet found their entry to US. They ended up residing in Binghamton, NY where both died. Believe Francis died in 1882.
I did write to town clerk but no response. They are both buried in Spring Forest cemetery in Binghamton. Tried writing there too, no response. Don't know if this helps. He had a brother Jacob that I know of.
