Skip,
You seem to have a pretty good handle on the Wiseman family of MD>GA so I hope you can help me.
Do you have a William Wiseman born c1791 Washington County, MD in your database?
Although William was born in Maryland, it appears that the family moved to Georgia before the War of 1812.
My William Wisemand gave his pob as Washington County, MD on his enlistment papers for the War of 1812.He gave his age as 22 [Date of Enlistment: Sept. 8, 1813].He enlisted in Georgia and his regiment was located at Fort Hawkins, Georgia.
William removed to Illinois c1824 after receiving a land bounty for his services in the War of 1812 [a lot of Georgia, War of 1812, veterans received land bounties in Illinois].
I did find the following records but can't run down anything more to see if this is my William:
Wiseman, William
Spouse:Oliver, Rebecca L.
Marriage Date:Sep 1, 1818
Marriage County:Chatham County
Also, a search of the 1820 census of Georgia reveals:
Robert WisemanCapt James Wrights District, Columbia, GA, page 44
Sarah WisemanMonticello, Jasper, GA
John WisemanNot Stated, Jones, GA
Margaret WisemanNot Stated, Richmond, GA page 208
William Wiseman Chatham County, GA [entire page is illegible]
Can you point me in any direction?I am so lost.
Tina
