I have much information on William Edward Wiseman who married Mary Davenport.William was born in London England and stold passage to Charleston SC in 1754 at the age of 13 along with two other teenage friends.Father was Thomas Wiseman.William born February 2, 1741.Worked off indenture in Charleston.Married Sadie Brown in Charleston.Sadie bore two children, possibly twins, but died in childbirth.William moved into North Carolina, spending time in Rowan County,which would become Burke County in 1777 and Caldwell County still later.There married Mary Davenport, whose family had moved down from Culpepper County, Virginia.William and Mary had 12 children.Thomas born April 30 1763, Dorothy born Feb. 5 1765, William born Aug 5 1767, Mary born April 11 1769, Davenport born Aug 28, 1771, Martin born Aug 24, 1773, James born Aug 18, 1775, John born Feb 21 1777, Selestal born Oct 22 1779, Susanna born Dec 16, 1781, Robert born July 14 1784 and Nancy born about 1786.William's wife Mary died and William then married Lydia Bedford, who bore him 7 more children.In all William E. Wiseman fathered 21 children.William settled in Mitchell County, now Avery County, near Ingalls, NC.The family farm, Sunnybrook Farm, is still in Wiseman hands.Descendents of William E. Wiseman are everywhere, including Tennessee and Texas.How are you related to William E. Wiseman?
