Forgive me, Ilean, for not responding sooner. It's been a coon's age since I signed on to the forum.

Things have calmed down at work, so I can finally devote some serious time to writing, etc.

I've gotten some new research from Northern Ireland. There is a James Winton listed in Aghadowey Parish in 1740, and the McClellans lived just a few miles away across the Bern River in Western Antrim County. The McCoys were farther away, so they all must have met on the boat over or soon upon arrival.
