Hi , Have also decided to reasrch the Family Tree Further. I do have an old copy buried somewhere of which the earliest date i knew of is Thomas in about 1790?From the Deerhurst area. Have now found further Wintles going back to about 1550. Bit of a bolck before then, Maybe the name changed. Wyntyll?? The story about the cloak clasp makers is great. Had not heard that. I was always under the impression that it is old English or Scottish , meaning To Stagger, and my brother recently said something about a Wintle trait sort of backing this up is having your second toe longer than your big toe!! Um! Any how Good luck with the research .
