My employer, Mrs McAlpine, has been researching her family tree for a number of years now (and I have just started helping her) and one of the names she has been researching is Wintle.
I found your message, dated a number of years ago, regarding John and Mary Wintle.Mrs McAlpine is the Gt Gt Gt Grandaughter of James Wintle - son of John and Mary Wintle (her Gt Gt Grandfather was Major General Edmund Wintle, her Gt Grandfather was Henry Russell Wintle and Grandmother was Hermine Sage Wintle who married Lionel Henry Cooke).Mrs McAlpine has often wondered where her Gt Grandfather got his middle name from, would there be any connection with your surname?
Mrs McAlpine has also researched James Wintle and found that he was born in Lancaster but has been unable to research John and Mary Wintle.I will be looking into this further over the next couple of months to see if I can shed anymore light on them.If you have informationwe would be grateful to receive it.
Also, if you would like to exchange any further information regarding the Wintles we will be happy to do so.We have a family tree which you could have if you would like (in a ged.com file or I should be able to put it into a word document and e-mail it to you)
Look forward to hearing from you
