WILL OF RICHARD QUINEY AUG. 16,1655, PROVIDED JAN. 1656
Communicated by Henry F. Waters, A.M., now residing in London.
"Genealogocal Gleanings in England.",Jan. 1887, pg. 53-55.
This one is a good one for the Wheate researchers. It layes the ground work for alot of research on the Wheat family. I know I loved this one. Its long and in some areas I my need to shorten it; but the names here are impressive and if you research them you will see why. This is were you will find your relation to William Shakespear. Have fun; this is a must.
By the way if anyone has more; please get it to me. This stuff is to important to sit on-yes!
Here we go:
Richard Quiney, citizen and grocer of London, 16 August 1655, proved 3 Jan., 1656. To be buried at Stratford upon Avon in the county of Warwick, where my father and other my ancestors are interred. One half of my personal estate(having no wife) I bequeath amoung my five children: Richard, Adrian, Thomas, William, and Sarah Quiney. To my cousin Dr. Richard Bayley and Master William Wheate(marr. to Ann Quiney, dau. of Adrian Quiney) fourty shillings apiece. To my cousin master George Nash-to my brother John Sadler-to my sons in law Edward Pilkington and Thomas Booth-to mycousin Richard Chaundler-to by brother in law William Smith-to my cousin William Watts-to cousins William,John and Robert Smith-(amounts stated)

Isabell-to cousin Charles Watts-to my cousins children of Ellen Parker-to my cousins John Sadler and William Baker- to cousin Margaret Jones--and it goes on to list other beneficiaries. To note those of inerest:
To my son Thomas Quiney, my part, share and interest in the ship called "Seven Sisters, Abraham Reade, comander,-He goes on to mention lands in Stratford upon Avon, Shottery, and county of Warwick. Most importantly, he states:"Also, I give and devise all my land in Virginia in the parts beyond the seas together with all the stock of cattle, servants and other things thereunto belonging unto my said son Thmas Quiney and to his heirs and assigns forever, all my land in Ireland to son Richard Quiney.
The will is footnoted with this fact:
The testor of will, was a brother in law of Rev. John Sadler, whose daughter marr. Rev. John Harvard. We find that the father of Harvard's wife, as well as his own mother, belonged to Stratford families. Shakspeare's dau. was Judith whomarr. 2,10,1615/6, Thomas Quiney, at that time a wine merchant, residing in the High Street of Stratford upon Avon.

Thomas Stone was a haberdasher as will as Richard Quiney. In Richard's will he mention a Gov. William Stone asking him to collect a debt from Thomas Weston. He also mentions a William Wheate. Deoes anyone know anything about this Gov. William Stone. The Stone family tells me that it is not their William and that a Wheat never married a Stone. Fact is I have two records: one of a John Stone married Sarah Chidlo(Chudlowe,Clithoroe,Cenoweth?),dau of William Childo and Isabella Wheate. Isabella Wheate was the dau. of Henry Wheate in 1560 of Stattford Co.,England.Isabella's brother William Wheate married Anne Quiney, dau of Adrain Quiney, son of Richard Quiney. There son William Wheate married Elizabeth Stone in 2/24/1624. Elizabeth Stone was the dau. of Thomas Stone the haberdasher, of London, a merchant. Thomas is know to have land in va. called Brandon Plantation. He was a "Gorcer of London"

Oh! Is this Thomas Weston the same that organized the Mayflower. I have much more information relating to this issue but I need to make this short.
