William Hardin and Mary Alice had another son named Winfield Scott Winstead, born 1907 in DeWitt IL (and died 4 May 1987). He is the father of my maternal grandmother, Vera Dolores Rector, who now resides in Vernon AL. I've got a pretty strong line of ancestors through him that pass through Hawkins Co TN through the 1800's, Virginia through the 1700's, back to the possible original immigrant, Daniel Winstead, born 1647 in England and bore a son with Elizabeth Winston named Samuel Winstead in Lancaster, VA. How does this hold up with your research? Feel free to e-mail me if you want to compare notes. You can also find my tree at ancestry.com (where I got most of the Winstead information). Hope its a good match!
