Thanks for your help. I have had someone in Hopkins Co. helping me with this problem. Here's what we have found. Martha's book has Mandley and Eliza's children are William, Pleasant and Alexander. His son Mandley Jr. was dead by 1822 in Person Co. so he can not be the gaurdian to the children in 1825. Mandley Sr. has the right amount of children in the 1820 census, but is missing a 13 yr old son in 1830, he only has 1 son between 15-20 which is Pleasant born in 1812. William was married in 1829. Alexander is missing. He was missing in the land settlement for Eliza's father Samuel Cox. in 1825. I have found another Winstead family in Hopkins Co. who came from Person Co, and this looks like Alexanders family. William Winstead married Sarah Morrow in 1816 in Person Co. Alexander T. was born in 1817.They came to Hopkins between 1830-1840. The Hopkins Co. tax list for 1839 shows both William and Alexander T. next to each other. In 1856 they were taxed together in Hopkins Co. I think William and Sarah are Alexander T. parents and Mandley's Alexander died before 1825. In Mandley Sr. will he only names children, Mandley Jr. dec'd, Anna, Bushard, Elizabeth, Jane, Sally, Charles, William, and Pleasant no mention of Alexander, which leaves me to believe that his Alexander is dead. This would also explain Samuel Cox's will which names Alexander G. not Alexander T. as the child of Eliza Winstead. I am still working on this, in hopes of correcting Alexander's parents. Thanks for your help again.
