I recieved a photocopy of my ancestors obituary and there was another person on this copy (not related to me) and the name was DAVID W. WINSLOW. I will email a copy of this obit to anyone who wants it.It is a copy of the original from Sept. 3, 1841. Below is the obituary: PONTIAC JACKSONIAN DEATH BY KIGHTNING- We regret to learn that a very worthy citizen of the town of Oakland, in this county, and his son were struck by lightning on the morning of Wednesday last. His name is DAVID W. WINSLOW. The old gentleman and the son went into the barn for some purpose, and while there the barn was atruck, and the son instantly killed! The barn was consumed with all its contents. When discovered to be on fire, some females of the family rushed to the barn and dragged the bodies from the balzing mass! The father is expected to recover. (THIS IS DATED SEPT. 3, 1841) ( I do not believe that there is a town of Oakland anymore and the ancestors of this man would have to check with Oakland county in Michigan to find out where this town originally stood in that county) Notify Administrator about this message?
