Deceased Name: Leslie E. Winslow
TAYLORVILLE - Leslie Everett Winslow, 86, of Taylorville died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Moweaqua, the son of Leslie and Eva Corzine Winslow. He married Blossom D. in 1947 in Taylorville.
Mr. Winslow was U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was a civil engineer.
He was a member of United Methodist Church of Taylorville, Illinois Association of Professional Engineers, Illinois Association of Highway Engineers, 50-year Mason of Mound Lodge 122, Consistory and Ansar Shrine, Christian County Shrine Club. He also was a member of VFW of Christian County, Christian County Farm Bureau, life member of the Eagle Scout Association and 50-year member of the Haselmere Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star 221.
Survivors: wife, Blossom; two sons, Bruce E. (wife, Janet) Winslow of Maple Park and Jon E. (wife, Patricia) Winslow of Westmont; daughter, Darcy (husband, James) Wright of Lafayette, La.; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister, Marilyn (husband, Robert) Brozio of Springfield; and two cousins.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, United Methodist Church, Taylorville.
Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
