I found in Monroe County GA: A History, will of Thomas M. Harrup, dated 1-5-1855 and probated 1-12-1855 B 178. Wife is Sarah. Children: John M. Harrup and Sarah Winslett and Martha Loduska. Executor: John M. Harrup. Witnesses Hiram Phinazee, Jeremiah Taylor and John H. Phinazee. Knowing that Loduska or Lodusca was a FIRST name for women and not a common surname, I did a search on the LDS site and found Martha Lodusca Harp, listed as dau. of Thomas Harrup and Sarah Martin and b. in VA in 1820.
I think that really should be GA, not VA--I'll do some more searching.
Now that we know that Loduska was NOT a surname but the girl's middle name, I wonder about Sarah Winslett and whether this was a middle name too & naybe she was called by a double name as common in the south to distinguish her from her mother Sarah. Finding the surname Martin gives me renewed hope that this family is related to my Dixon Harp. Also, note that the LDS listing was for "Lodusca Harp" with father being "Thomas Harrup." Interesting. Hope you are feeling okay. Tina
