Thelma,
I am a descendant of the Maine Winship line. The first Winship in Maine was Ephraim Winship, son of Ephraim and Hannah (Cutter) of Lexington, Massachusetts. He was born 23 May, 1709 and moved to Windham, Maine as a young adult.
Some of his descendants still live in that area. I am descended from one of his grandchildren, Benjamin Winship who moved to Amity in northern Maine in the early 1800's.
Regards,
Dave Longden
