On this 22nd day of February 1851 personally appeared before me Eli Wheat, an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county and state aforesaid Sarah A. Damron, a residence of said county aged fifty eight years past who being first duly sworn according to law doth on her oath make the following statements, that she is the 7th child of Judith Winniford widow of David Winniford and that her said mother and father had eight children the oldest died when young and that her oldest child that is now living is sixty eight years old past and that her said mother always told her children and neighbors that her husband David Winniford was a Revolutionary Soldier and said he served two years as a Sergeant in the regular service in the early part of the Revolution and that they were married in 1780 and in 1781 he served two tours three months each as Sergeant each time and her her sister Roda Ganaway stayed with her while her husband was in the service and that it has always from her earliest recollection been reported and believed that her husband the aforesaid David Winniford was a Revolutionary Soldier as stated in her declaration of August last and that her said mother Judith Winniford has been living in the same neighborhood and she now resides in for more than forty years past, she further states that she was well acquainted with Joel Drake who took great delight in telling her that he was well acquainted with her father the aforesaid David Winniford and was a messmate and served in the war of the Revolution with him. She furter states that she was acquainted with John P. Bondwrant who also took great pleasure in telling her that he served in the war of the revolution with her father the aforesaid David Winniford and described his make, size and appearance and that he was a Sergeant in the army. Joel Drake also said he was Sergeant in the army; viz the aforesaid David Winniford, sworn to and subscribed the day and year above written before me. Eli Wheat, J.P.A.C. Sarah A. Damron

Correction: Richard Windford & Roseanna Shepherd married July 19, 1739; St. Luke's Parish, Queen Anne's County, Maryland. (I misspelled both names on first posting).
