Winne is the more common spelling, but I have also seen it as Winnie. Carrie Winne is probably descended from Jacob G. Winne (1777-1863). He came to Steuben County, NY from Rensselaer County, NY. His parents came from Albany County, NY. Jacob's first wife is Neltje "Nelly" Van Patten. Their children wereall baptised at the Dutch Reformed Church in Schaghticoke, Renssellaer County, NY:

Agness; 3 Mar 1803; 3 Apr 1803
Angellaca; 27 Nov 1800; 8 Dec 1800
Annacha; 28 Jan 1798; 26 Feb 1798
Eve; 26 May 1807; 21 Jun 1807
Jessina; 25 Apr 1805; 26 May 1805
Francis; 26 Oct 1808; 26 Sep 1809
Necholas Viele; 1 Mar 1812; 12 Apr 1812

Eve or Eva Winne is the child I am researching. Her husband was Armone or Armony or Armona Beverly.

Jacob's second wife was Julia Ann Wells (1792-1866). Both are buried in the Haskinsville Cemetery. Julia was a widow with children, herself at the time.

There are also Winnes buried in the following Steuben County Cemeteries (all listed on-line):

Rural Cemetery, Prattsburg
Maple Cemetery, Addison
Bath National Cemetery

I am not familair with all of the above though.

I hope this is helpful.

Raleigh, NC
