Roger,
I finally received the census microfilm that I ordered.According to what I found on the census, I believe even stronger that my Stephen is the same Stephen son of Abraham and Sally.
In the 1850 Census I find a Stephen Winne, age 26 years (in October of 1850) living with Sally, George, and Cynthia in Lansingburgh, NY.He is listed as a farmer that was born in New York.
In the 1860 Census, I find a Stephen Winne, aged 35 years (in July if 1860) who is living in Lansingburgh. He is a farmer that was born in New York. This Stephen is my Stephen-living with wife Sarah and children Ella, Frederick, and Stephen. He was also living with Fanny Brigg, 28, and Charles Shepherd, 17.
I guess that there is always a chance that this is not the same Stephen, but do to the fact that they both live in Lansingburgh-a small town from what I can tell, and the fact that as long as he had a birthday between July 13th and October 25th they are the same age, I believe that as much as can be proven at this point they are the same Stephen.
By the way, what do you have as Stephen's birthdate?Do you have a date or just the year 1824?
Do you think that this is the same Stephen?Have you heard of the Briggs or the Shephards?
