Edwin E. Winnie was my GGGrandfather, born Oct 12, 1835 in Blenheim, NY.The family came to WI from NY in 1845. Edwin had 4 sisters and 2 brothers, one died as an infant. His brother Menzo also fought in the Civil War and was injured, in the 19th Wisconsin Infantry.
I found online that Edwin enlisted in Sept. 1862 in Rockford Il. He was 27 years old and single, Ht. 5 ft. 61/2 in, brown hair, gray eyes, dark complexion. He fought in TN, at the seige of Vicksburg,MS, in Chattanooga, Atlanta, Nashville, and Mobile.I found that he had fingers shot off May 22, 1863 during the seige of Vicksburg.
I do not know anything more about Emma Fish than you related.
Emeline L Scott was my GGGrandmother, born 1853 in Wisconsin, died 1891 La Grange, buried La Grange Cemetery.
Her parents came from St. Johns, New Brunswick.
There were 6 children: Mary (Myrtle) b. abt. 1877,
Esther b. Nov 1878 d.Jan. 1951, Menzo b. abt. 1880, Roy, Archie, and Vonnie. (I know there were 6 children, but my information from a distant cousin who had access to a long ago family Bible said one child was named Barzy, I am not sure if that was Roy or Menzo.)
My family lore says that later in life Edwin wrote speeches for political figures in WS.
