In Reply to: 1880 US Census , Town of Bethlehem,NY shows Ira Winnie as son of M.S. and by Brad Winne of 234

Believe the 1870 and 1860 censuses hold the secrets

1870 NY Albany Bethlehem
Winne, Lasher M. 40
Jane Ann 42
Seth G. 10
Ira K. 5
+ other children
1860 NY Albany Bethlehem
Marcus L. Winne 30
Jane A. 32
Seth G. 8/12
+ other children

So the story line is this

1880 census actually reads M. L. where the L. was transcribed as an S.
full name of father of Seth Griffin and Ira Kipp is Marcus Lasher Winne!

Believe Marcus to be the son of
Andrew Winne b. June 26, 1811 d.August 28, 1863 Bethlehem
and Magdalen Lasher b. Oct 8, 1811
Andrew and Magdalen were married feb 12, 1830 Bethlehem

from Andrew the line goes back to Pieter Winne, who was in the Albany area in 1853

The parentage of Marcus does not have good supporting data, but the circumstantial data looks good.

Let me know if you need further information or want to see if we can get better supporting data.
