Annette,Working on the same thing...Looking for the parents of Mary Elizabeth Winn, b. Va. 1723 married William Richard Hardy, b. Va. 1722. They married 1742. Moved to Lunenburg Co., Va. For many years I could not locate the Father of Mary Elizabeth Winn. Recently, while working on her husband, William Richard Hardy, I found that he had some litigation about a grist mill with a Daniel Winn, a neighbor on adjoining land about 1765. There has to be a familial connection. I started working on Daniel Winn. I came across some other Winns that spelled their name Wynne. In the end, I found a Thomas Wynne who died in Lunenburg and his Mother was Agness Stith. Further research, on the internet, revealed that Thomas Wynne had a son Daniel, a son Joseph and a daughter Mary. William Richard Hardy bought the land and the grist mill from Daniel Wynne and Joseph Wynne in about 1780. Thomas is the logical Father for Mary Elizabeth Winn, wife of William Richard Hardy. In William Richard Hardy's will dated 1790, he leaves land to his son Stith Hardy. Stith Hardy has to be the name sake for Mary Winn Hardy's Grandmother Agnes Stith. Can any one document that Thomas Winn (Wynne)is the s/o Thomas Winn & Agnes Stith OR clear it up for me. Thank you for any assistance. [email protected] Mike Mankin
