Harvie Perry WINKLES & Ardie Una STOCKTON were married on June 27, 1914. Ardie was born 2/22/1896-died 3/4/1989 in Curry Co., NM. Her son
Oliver Lowry Winkles (born 5/15/1915) still lives in Curry County, NM. My connection is through Ardie Una. Oliver Lowry Winkles came to Clovis, NM when he was a small boy from Enloe, Delta Co., TX with his parents. They have lived here ever since. Some of the names they shared with me were listed on paper but no dates etc. but it is interesting:
Harvie Perry Winkles & Ardie Una Stocktonsp, Dave Winkles & Lucy Bridges, Lorenzo Argile Stockton/& Mary Jane Perry (Scottsboro, AL), Hamp Bridges, Effrim ?, Katie Bridges?, Richard Lee Winkles (born 1833 in Marshall Co., AL), Mandy?,
Alongside Harvie Perry Winkles-Brothers:Gordon, Lee, Henery, sisters? Geneva married Weaks? One of the brothers?Gordon maybe married Rose & had children Bernice? This was given to me by Maurine Winkles in handwriting outline etc as she was working on her family tree (Franklin Edward Lovett & Sudie Jane McGee Lovett-her parents). I hope this helps. They are friends and has shared this but I did not plan to seek Winkles out but will help where I can. I would be glad to hear if you have this more in detail to share with this couple as they are really kind people. My line is McCutchen/Stockton/Willmon/Boarman. There is another family of Winkles in Curry County, or where they. These families came to NM for the Homestead land and have done much for this county. Sincerely, Mary Boarman McCutchen/Portales, Roosevelt Co., NM. We are just about 20 miles south of Clovis.
