Deborah...This may not help, but there is a BENJAMIN WINKLER on the 1834 Georgia state census for Lumpkin County:

Then, on the 1840 Lumpkin County, GA federal census, there is a SARAH WINKLER listed as head of household:

The David Oxford who is the administrator of Sarah Winkler's estate was a neighbor to Benjamin Winkler on the 1834 GA state census. Of course I don't know, but PERHAPS Sarah is Benjamin's widow and MAYBE they are the parents of your Miles Allen Winkler? Just a thought. If possible, I would try to obtain those estate papers for Sarah Winkler to see "IF" you Miles is mentioned.
