Hello Jim,
I just today located this forum site and was so glad to find it.I see you mentioned you had found two James Winghams, one with a birth year of 1820.I feel that may be my g-g-grandfather, who immigated to the U.S. in 1845, finally landing in Galveston, Texas. Not sure how long he stayed there, however, as he settled in the northern portion of Kentucky in the U.S., and now many of his descendents live in Indiana, particularly the southern portion, which is where I was born. From research, we know this James was born in 1820, had a large family, eight of which I believe lived to adulthood, and I am a great-granddaughter of his eighth child, Nathan Wingham.Seems he had ties to, may have been born in, the Isle of Wight, before emigrating.I haven't had a chance to research just what area/county of England that would be.Well, I can certainly provide to anyone interested quite a lot of info. on his descendents, and likewise would greatly appreciate any further info. on James' ancestors or any other info. as to just where the Isle of Wight is.Thank you so much.
Regards,Connie Galliher
