I grew up in Oklahoma, my father (born 1897)grew up in Arkansas, and my grandfather (born 1852) grew up in Indiana. My great grandfather born 1828, birthplace indeterminate, but he died in Indiana in 1853. My gt gt grandfather (born 1797) in England. Spelling before 1880 was usually Wingate, but became Winget about 1880. Birthplaces of my gt gt and gt grandfathers derived from census records.
