My third great grandfather was John Wingard. He died in Ohio in the 1890s. At the time of his death, he had two sons living in Colorado, George and Eli. By the time their mother died in the early 1900s, George had returned to Ohio, but Eli lived in Elyria, Colorado. I can't find Elyria on any modern map. However, I found an old map from around 1900 that shows it was very near Denver. I have no idea what happened to Eli, whether or not he was married or had any children. Do you have any idea who your grandfather's father was?
