Susan - I have searched my records again and I find a Paul Wingard, born about 1847. I do not remember for sure, but I feel I got this info from the 1850 census of SC. I do not have any children for Paul and I do not show a brother named George. However, I doubt I looked any later in the censuses than 1850. If Paul had a brother named George, born in 1866, I would not have found him. It is a little unlikely that Paul born in 1847 would have a son born in 1866. Anyway, Paul was the son of Reuben Wingard, the son of Henry Wingard, the son of John Mathias Wingard, the son of original immigrant John Adam Wingard. This is the only Paul I have in my records in SC about the correct time. Have you looked in the 1870 census of SC - Most likely, George Pinkney would have been listed, perhaps just by his first name, in the house of his father. [email protected]
