It is likely that Deborah Wing & William Dungan met through their affiliation with the Society of Friends (Quakers).

Besides the weekly religious service, the Quakers had Monthly and Annual meetings. These meetings (especially the Annual Meetings) often gathered folks from far and wide.

There are other cases from shortly after this time period where Wings from Sandwich, Mass. married a Quaker from Newport, RI.
