Hi there. My grandfather's name was George Winfrey. He changed his last name to Lepper to honor his foster parents. His mother's name was Dora and he had two brothers -- all put in foster care. There is a great deal of mystery -- apparently my grandfather went to see his real mother (she was in Ohio or Illinois or Indiana - I'll get the facts) and when he came back from the visit he became distant and suicided soon after. I do not know of a father and have not been able to locate a birth certificate. He lived in Michigan and died in the 1950's. My father, Donald Raymond Lepper, passed away last June at age 67. We are in Michigan. I would love to exchange with you my knowledge so far. I am a writer and a researcher and I am determined to know what is in my ancestry. My grandfather, who I never met, was German.
