Samuel Winebarger married1848 Missouri

Hi, I am new to this, I just started looking on the internet for Winebarger's. My father, Daniel Winebarger is from Jefferson county Missouri I belive. I traced his line back three generation from my grandfather (I can't remember his name, b.1888) to James Winebarger, then to Samuel Winebarger married in 1848, i don't know from where Samuel migrated, if indeed he did, or if his parents migrated to Missouri. I am trying to find out where the line begins, my father said they came from Viginia. Was Samuel a descendant of Charles b. 1795, he is the only one I can find from Virginia, the others are North carolina. I have a theory that all the Winebarger's came from one family, because Winebarger is an Americanized name. My second cousin told me that the name was originally Weinberger (she is now deceased), which would be Jewish. I would like to find out who it was that came over from Europe and from where. Does anyone have a piece to help me solve this giant puzzle??
