Well... unfortunately for me, the subject already includes everything I know about James WIND. Almeda COFFMAN was born 1844 to give at least a clue to the time frame. I've not been able to find Almeda after the 1870 Logan co., IL census (Where she was still listed as "COFFMAN"). She was nowhere in the 1880 Logan co. census as "COFFMAN" or "WIND". I'm hoping that someone here may have a lead for me as to where James was from.
Thanks for any clues you might have to share.
