The Winchester Family Tree DNA Project is seeking Winchesters with documented descendancy that links to one of the male Winchesters arriving 1600s-1700s into Colonial MA, MD, VA, NC or SC. For details regarding Project objectives and findings to date see http://www.familytreedna.com/public/winchesterfamilyDNAproje...
We have already linked four settlement groups from 1760s in NC previously unknown to be related and are now seeking Winchester DNA links among SC, NC, MD, VA and MA, as well as DNA links back to UK. We particularly need proven descendants of John Winchester of 1630s James Town, VA & Kent Isle, MD and 1760s Willoughby Winchester of South Carolina.
We are particularly intersted in members with proven descent from counties bordering south of Moray Firth.
The project has limited grant funds to support the initial Y-DNA 12 & haplogroup basic test @ $99 for candidates who can fill in missing data. The member can then add more detailed tests later as they desire. Please contact Sam Winchester via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up details and google “samuel winchester ncsu” for personal verification.
