I hope you still check this message board. I am descended from Silas Winans b. 1760, Amenia, Dutchess, NY (this is only date available). He died in Wolcott, Seneca, NY - you have the date. He was married 23 Dec 1784, Little Nine Partners, Dutchess, NY to Elizabeth Howe b. 1767 (contact me later for exact dates)d. 1848. After Silas died she married Joshua Calkins who pre-deceased her. Elizabeth Howe Winans Calkins is buried at Winegar Hill Cemetery next to Silas. They had 10 children:
1. Anthony b. 1785, d. btw 1838-40 (he is also supposed to be buried at Winegar Hill)
2. Elizabeth b. 1787, d. 1853/54, bur. Winegar Hill
3. Silas no other info
4. Chester b. 1877
5. Ann Eliza
6. Tammy Jane b. 1801, d. 1866
7. Lucy
8. Lydia
9. Lewis b. 1810
10.Ransom b. 1812 (I am descended from this last child)
I would be very interested in hearing more about the property that Silas owned, that is now in your family.
