Hello! I am in search of my father's family history. My father, Hartmut Manfred Woehrl (b. 2/13/42 in Germany) and his sister Helgard X Woehrl - [who still lives in Germany today] (b. abt 1940 in Germany) were the children of Martina Maria Wimmer (b. 5/2/1918 in Hergertshausenig, Germany{sp?}) She married my grandfather in Austria or Germany, who had the last name of Woehrl. Martina's father was Martin Wimmer, who was married to Katharina Ecker. My father's mother Martina divorced his father (Woehrl) and married a US man by the name of Phillip Willoughby and she came to the US with him and my father around 10/18/1960 when she applied for a social security card in Murfreesboro, TN. Martina and Phillip Willoughby had 2 children in the US, named Martina Willoughby and Martin Willoughby in the Topeka, KS area.
I live in the St. Louis, MO area and my name is Melissa Martina (Woehrl) Reedy.
I know this is a lot of information, but I was hoping to find some ties to my father's mother's family and her husband and their family and so forth....my father does not speak about his life in Germany so I don't know what happened there...so I am coming up against brick walls. Any help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated!!
