Jackson Wimberly, the son of Joel and Jane Wimberly, was born in 1816 and died in 1872. Jackson's wife, Frances Gonce, and he had ten children, one of whom, Mary, married Marcus L. Rudder. Mary's brother and sister, Andrew Jackson and Malinda Margaret, married Margaret Foster and Thomas Foster, respectively. Its likely that Margaret and Thomas Foster were siblings as these large families often merged. (BTW, Mary's older sister, Jane, married Michael Looney.) Several generations of their descendants yet remain in Jackson Co. Confirming your comment in regards to the Cawlfield and Thompson mergers: William Jackson, son of Andrew Jackson, married Leanna Cawlfield and another sibling of Andrew, Frances, married Bill Thompson. All of these families, including most of their lineages, are presented in "Descendants of Matthew Russell and Related Families of Jackson Co., AL: A Collection of Genealogies," 2009, by Russell. (Index contains over 8500 names of these early families and shows many connections.) If I can be of further assistance, please contact me via this forum or email direct for questions on these or other known related early settlers in Jackson Co.
