Services for Leon Grady Wimberley, 74, were conducted Tuesday in Cox Funeral Chapel by the Rev R M Stephenson and the Rev Joe Bridges. Burial was in Oak City Cemetery.
Mr. Wimberley died Mon after a heart attack. A NATIVE of GRADY COUNTY, he moved to Bainbridge from Whigham seven years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Southern Meth Church of Bainbridge.
Survivors includes his wife, Mrs Dessie (Gilliard)Wimberley; three sons, the Rev L C Wimberley, Macon, and Grady W Wimberley, Detroit, MI; and C L Connell, Bainbridge; four grandchildren; two brothers, V G Wimberley, Jacksonville; and O J Wimberley, Thomasville; two sisters,Mrs ruby Willis, Tallahassee and Mrs A S Reagan, Valdosta.

Mrs. Honerine Gilliard Wimberley Pyles age, 73 passed away Wednesday (Feb 3, 1971), in the Whigham Nursing Home after an extended illness caused from a stroke.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb 4, 1971 in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev David DuBose and Rev Lester Parks officiating. Pallbearers were Frank Elkins, James Elkins, Harry Weathersby, Alvin Dixon, Allie Ben Prince, and Jewell Barrett. Interment was in the Centennial Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Pyles was born in Grady County on Dec 8, 1897 to Cordilia Griffin and Pryor E Gilliard. She has been a life time resident of Grady County and a member of the Centennial Meth Ch.
Surviving are four daughters: (All children by marriage with Olin Jefferson Wimberely) Mrs. Ellen Harvey from Decatur, Mrs. Edna Earle Chason of Cairo, Mrs. Ethel Barwick of Pahokee, FL, Mrs. Louise Morris of Augusta: two sons Ed Wimberley of Augusta, C R Wimberley of Tallahassee: 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren

Phil Patterson will officiate, with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham. Active pallbearers will be Lynn Wimberely, Charles Wimberley, Jerry Wayne Baggett, Steve Baggett, David Baggett and Andy Barrineau. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the church. Mrs. Wimberley died Wednesday, Sept 1, 1993 at Grady General Hospital. Born Oct 2, 1915, in Grady County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Mary O'Brien Baggett. She had retired from Sunnyland Packing CO and was married to the late Olin J Wimberley. Survivors include a stepson, Charles Rogers Wimberley, Thomasville; stepdaughters, Ethel S Barwick, Orange Springs, FL, Edna Earl Chason, Cairo, Louise Morris, Macon; sister Luvenia Lower, Cairo, brother, H M "Joby" Baggett, Quincy,Fl; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Friday at Clark Funeral Home.
