Carol, I think you are looking for me and I hope that we can connect. I have a large tree starting with the WILZ family in Michelbach, Kingdom of Bavaria, that goes back to 1717 and forward to today. My father was born in Metamora, my mother in Peoria. I know of the Walk family also at least some of it. I found some of the Walk family at the FHC in Salt Lake years ago. Never found much on the WILZ/WILTZ family. But to let you know the "T" was put in the family name about the 1850s-1860s by most of the WILZ families as that was their name in Bavaria without the "T". I have been to Michelbach and located two cousins there with the name still WILZ. They are half fourth cousins to me as the man, Konrad WILZ, born in 1717 married twice and we here in America are related to the first wife and those I met in what is now the State of Bavaria (Germany's largest) are related to the second wife.
Much more to tell you if interested. I have found the children that came to America on the ship "Favorite" arriving at Baltimore on the 4th day of September 1837, but have been unable to locate the parents and perhaps a son born at sea, Michael. Will exchange with you any info you wish, so get your tree ready for mailing to me. I need more on the WALK family.
Ken WILTZ,
Family historian of the WILZ/WILTZ
family
