HUSSEY, BUTCHER, GAISFORD, BAILEY OF NORTH BRADLEY

Hi all

I am interested in my ancestors from North Bradley and Trowbridge in Wiltshire. Here are a few details:

Robert Hussey born 1771 in North Bradley married Ann Bailey of Wiltshire on 15th November 1790. Their children were John, Ann, Robert (my ancestor), Susannah and Daniel. Robert Snr died 1826 in North Bradley.

Their son Robert was born 1802 in NB. He married Elizabeth Butcher on 5th February 1824. Elizabeth was born 7th February 1803 in NB to parents John Butcher and Rachel Gaisford. Their children were Edward, George, Arabella, Daniel, Martha, Maria, Jane, James, Robert and Harriett. Elizabeth died between 1843 and 1858, and it was at this time that Robert Hussey migrated to Australia with four of his daughters (Martha went to Australia the year before aboard the "Negotiator"). They arrived in NSW aboard the "Mary Pleasants" where Arabella died. After this, the family their way to North East Victoria. Of the other children - Daniel had already moved to USA; Edward, George and Robert died in infancy. Nothing is known of James Hussey, although a family letter indicates that he was alive in 1878 when his father died in Victoria.

Thanks for any info regarding these families in these areas.
Linda
