Hi Elizabeth,
My Wiltgen line contains a Angelique Wiltgen, who was born 10-26-1796 in Boevange-sur-Attert, Luxembourg to Peter Wiltgen and Margaret Cloos. There was not a prior record in Boevange-sur-Attert.
The family MICHELS moved to The town of Belgium, Wisconsin in Ozaukee County in 1849. There were 3 or 4 other WILTGEN families in Belgium (which was formed in 1849 a few miles west of Port Washington).
In the book "Tapestry of Luxembourg", it shows the following Wiltgen Families in 1855:
Wiliam Wiltgen - 2 males, 2 females
Peter Wiltgen - 3 males, 3 females
Charles Wiltgen - 3 males, 3 females
In the listing of town officers it shows the following:
Towb Chairman:
1878 - J. b. WILTGEN
Town Treasurer:
1871 - J. P. Wiltgen
I hope this helps.I wasn't able to find death records for the 3 main family memebers who were in belgium in 1855.Hope you can help.Tom
