I apologize for such a lengthy reply ……and still would wish to witness firsthand to this response or/a final determination for History sake as well as Presbytery sake to be CORRECT....which is all I am after for history not my self since I still have no connection to these Wilson's.
Sir, Let me start off responding to your statement about a professional genealogist first of all - I hired myself a professional genealogist “Mr. Monte Knight” (now deceased) of Maury County, Tennessee in 1982 to find & proof my own Wright linage………………..well after twelve years or 1994, along with two other professional genealogist (names withheld/living) & Mrs. Irene Griffey (now deceased) who each concurred. Then applied for and received from my State of Tennessee June 14, 1795 on the bi-centennial for the State a “First Family Certificate” awarded to me & four of my sons’ & daughter. I have that certificate framed & hanging to this very day………great one would think ……However when I applied for my Y-DNA in 1997 I was surprised to learn the Genealogists as well as the State of Tennessee were both wrong in their findings. That was when I began my own RESEARCH to try any prove my CORRECT lineage by Y-DNA after coaching from a fellow ancestral correspondent Mr. Robert Grant which I had met and had corresponded with early on in my search. Bottom line is I received in 1999 my own Y-DNA match and certificate which now can be seen on the Web ….as well as the others data I have related to you……I am trying to say or/state I am open to any & all documentations
Well sir I went from a high point of my life, plus twelve years wasted, to the lowest point of still unable to make clear and deified statement of my gr-gr-gr-grandparent or/their orange. That his when I took on the task of genealogy myself……starting at the point or/year of breakdown 1995 to 2001 when I receives my Y-DNA match & Certificate #138833 so I now know from where I came to BE an AMERICAN of Scot-Irish Ancestry.
Sir with all due respect your opening sentence gives me pause for concern by naming a John W. Wilson a professional genealogist seeing as how there was now a John Wilson of ANY kin by the four brothers Robert, Samuel, Zaccheus and David Wilson …….in FACT there was only one John Wilson who married Margaret Wallace September 15, 1789, the s/o Robert ‘old Robin’ and Eleanor Carothers Wilson who is believed to have come into Tennessee AFTER it had became the State in ca.1807…? The only other John Wilson was his brother Samuel Wilson (Sr.) who son John Wilson died unmarried……
Bottom line is I therefore have to be skeptical of ANY John Wilson of that time period or/ born before hand since I have the RECORDS of ALL the ones I found to these Wilsons’ family sir…..You however do note and name or/ mentioned several that do recognize….The bottom line
is I STANDBY what I have posted UNTIL PROVEN otherwise.
The David Wilson (Jr.) born February 1774 does marry Jenny ‘Catherine’ Wear (Weir) October 19. 1796 in Greene County……..and NEVER left Greene County from his time of arrival there in 1784, with his parents and family…..which included his brother James T. Wilson who married Elizabeth Weir (Wear), David Wilson (Jr.) wife’s sister, November 10, 1802 in Blount County, Tennessee. The 1850 census records of Greene County District 9, shows David Wilson (Jr.) and his wife Catherine (Wear) Wilson as 71 years of age. The 1860 census records show David Wilson (Jr.) district 4, Greene County, Tennessee, USA. Enumeration Date June 12, 1860 Schedule Type Agriculture….
At any rate I would strongly dispute as 185? Which was have placed him as dying even before his wife - need to see more OF YOUR RECORDS to defer thinking of records I have from this David Wilson (Jr.) February 1774 - ca.1875 IN GREEN COUNTY never leaving as I have posted except for his stitch in the War of 1812 ….Sir
I do not know him but with parent of Hugh Wilson probably another line… since that name Hugh Wilson NEVER appears in this family AT.. ALL until the birth of Zaccheus Wilson born 1765 who has son, Hugh C. Wilson born ca.1814….again I can show and do in my book that this son David Wilson (Jr.) born 1774 with HIS own death sometime after 1870 in Greene County…...with census records from 1800 thru 1870 with his wife LAST shown as ‘Catherine Wilson’ in 1850 & NOT no JANE or JEAN sir……that much you can find on the internet, as well as his War 1812 record & other accounts bottom line I do not know who this David Wilson in 1851 and buried at Beech Springs Cemetery but I AM plosive with records which will dispute it was not the David Wilson (Jr.) 1774 - 1875 at 101 years of age
Everything I have posted can be backed up by WHAT I have cons crewed to be of this family ....and will have to say I stand my finding -thus far Sir.
