The first of 8 land lotteries held in Georgia was in 1805 and only citizens of the State of Georgia were eligible to participate. One of those who was a lucky winner for a grant in Oglethorpe County, GA was Zaccheus Wilson.

This Zaccheus Wilson, son of Zaccheus Sr. who had died in 1795 in Oglethorpe County, was still a resident of Georgia at that time.
