WILLIAM ALEXANDER WILSON b 1875 ONTARIO

Hi all,

My stumbling block is WILLIAM 'ALEX' ALEXANDER WILSON: I don't know much about him or his family.
I have found a Robert and Alexander Wilson in the Fort Francis, Algoma Ontario area, who seem like they could be his father and family but it would only be a guess.
I'm looking for parents/siblings of William Alexander
WILSON (I'm told he was Scottish but half of his children's birth records in
1916 census records say Scottish and half say Irish). according to 1906 Canadian
Census, William was b. abt.
1875-76 in "O" (Ontario?, CANADA).
(I'm guessing he may have worked in Fort Francis, Ontario, CANADA-1901 Census has a possible match).
William was a carpenter and possibly used the name Alex. William was an Orangeman and I remember hearing something years back about a Blue Lodge).
William married Lillian Mary HULL/HALL(?)or Mary Lillian HULL (Online birth records for her first 3 children (George, Clifford and Grace) list her surname as LILLIAN M MULHYZE, LILLIAN MARY HILL, LILIAN MARY HEYZY) (Polish) b. about 1878-82 (1916 census says born
in RUSSIA)USA. It says in 1906 Canadian census that Lilian immigrated from the USA to CANADA in 1904.

The WILSONS raised about 8 children in SASKATOON (3rd child was born in MANITOBA) and possibly other parts of
CANADA. I have found these records online:
1-William Alexander WILSON (Jr) -"Billy"-according to online Overseas Expeditionary Attestation Paper, William was b. about 1900 in Kenora, Ontario, CANADA. (several other birthdates were given-he attempted to make himself older..1898, and one other but the military notes on the copy of his attestation paper that his birth certificate says Dec. 16, 1900). He may be from a first marriage since Lillian didn't immigrate to CANADA until 1904. I don't have any marriage licence for them. I have a family photo and Wm. Jr. does look a little different so I wondered if he might not be from another mother. I can't find his birth records or anything concrete about him in 1901 Ontario Census records or LDS.

2-George Kenneth WILSON b. 1905 / 1 / 5 GLEN EWEN, Saskatchewan

The name "NORRIS" is used as a middle name in my family more than once. I have seen that name associated with another Wilson posting and I wondered if that would be someone's surname?... maybe William Srs mother's family? Is that a given name? It seems to be Irish.

This is my grandfather. The following information I know is true:
3-Clifford Norris WILSON b. 1906 / 3 / 26 (Online Manitoba birth record says he was born in MANITOBA but 1916 Census says he was born in Saskatoon) I have no idea if the WILSONS lived in Manitoba at this time.

He married Sue (Susan)WIEBE on July 19, 1941, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Clifford was Presbyterian, truck driver, Private with Princess Patricia Light Infantry Regiment #H-17490 Unit#1, Motor Ambulance Convoy

R.C.A.M.C. with honourable discharge on June 26, 1940 in WINNIPEG

received War Medal for 1939-1940

Clifford was employed as a Mechanic

Clifford and Sue lived at:

487 Newton Avenue (Elmwood), WINNIPEG

404 Martin Avenue, WINNIPEG- Sept.1940

Clifford's first marriage to UNKNOWN in SASKATCHEWAN (about 1930-35?)
divorced about 1940-41

children from first marriage: Louise Wilson and unknown daughter.

Clifford died 1973 / 4 / 20 Winnipeg, Manitoba

4-Grace Lillian WILSON (also recorded as LELIAN GRACE) b. 1907 / 11 / 22
Saskatoon

5-Eva (also recorded as Evea) WILSON b. 1915 Saskatoon according to 1916 census

6-Ruth WILSON no record so far of the following children in 1916
census so unsure of order of ages. Perhaps they werent born yet.

7-Gladys WILSON married Harry REID and lived in British Columbia,
CANADA

8-James? used the name "Jimmy" WILSON

One of the WILSON girls was married to a HAMER? HELMER? A few married and
moved to the USA.

I cannot find anything on this family in 1911 census. They (or maybe just
William Sr and William Jr?) lived at 506 4th Avenue, Saskatchewan, Canada as
late as 1916 when William Jr
was in the army.

William and Lillian were later divorced or separated.

William WILSON Sr. died after September 1940 in Saskatoon.
Some siblings moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA. Mary "Lillian"
later moved to Vancouver, CANADA (I was told Elliot and Oliver, B.C.).
She became bed-ridden in the last 6 months of her life and died in BC around
1950 at about age 72 yrs
old.

I have family photos.

If you are from or know of this family, I'd love to hear from you.
Thank you.

Cherie
