I have a David Wilson, born 1769 County Down, Ulster and wife Nancy Elder, born 1771 County Antrim, Ulster who immigrated to Fiarfield District, SC (via Charleston) in 1805 with four children. They sojourned in Fairfield District until 1821, then moved to Lincoln County, MO. According to family lore, their daughter Mayr, born 1805 died aboard ship, and the parents tried to conceal her body so she could be buried on land. But they were ordered to bury her at sea, to keep sharks from attacking the ship. In Loncoln County MO's Hurricane Township, there's a gravestone for her with the single date 1805. Does anybody know if there also is a gravestone in Fairfield District and, if so, where?
