I’m searching for info on a Willis WILSON, who married my 3rd great-gma on 6-20-1875 in Greene Co, GA. My 3rd great-gma’s name was Caroline Frances (Perdee) Ward MORRIS, but was also known as Carrie F. MORRIS in several documents over the years. I found a marriage record for the aforementioned folks, but I’m thinking Willis WILSON died or something else happened, because Caroline Frances is on the 1880 census as the head of household, bearing the Wilson name (said she was married, not widowed) and then she took back her name from her previous marriage, MORRIS on 1900 and 1910 Greene Co, GA censuses. Did Willis die between his marriage in 1875 and before 1880 since he’s not on the census?? Caroline and Willis had a son, W.F. Wilson, known as “Jim” who was b. 5-15-1876. This Jim went on to marry Fannie Batchelor (had daughter Daisy) and then a Mary L. Vastor Plummer Stone/Stowe (stepson J. Henry). Jim d. 11-29-1959 in Anderson Co, SC. Just trying to get insight into to this marital mystery, as Caroline was pretty much always the head of household, being married, bearing the married names, but no husbands in sight. I’d like to know a little more about Willis WILSON, such as birth date, state of origin, race, etc., even though he’s not my line. It would help out the descendants who don't know along w/ me. Thank you!! Notify Administrator about this message?
