Wilshire Family Genealogy Forum

I spent about 3 years in the UK via the USAF, while there I ran into a couple selling family crests in the bx. My last name at the time was German and they were going to do research for us, but then they asked my maiden name which is Wilshire. The woman started telling me stories of the family line and just how insane it has always been. I had to find humour in it as my family line is exactly the same way. Funny thing was she was also a Wilshire and she knew the history to a T. Wish I could remember her name now!
Apperently our name comes from Wiltshire county in the UK. There were 6 siblings, the parents died, and the kids all fought over who would get what! Nothing could be agreed upon and the 2 youngest kids took most of what there was and moved away to Colchester county. A few generations go by and again there was a family fued, for the same reason I might add, and several of them packed up and went to Canada. The story goes on that every 3rd generation seems to do this. My family, when my Grandmother passed away did exactly the same thing. 2 boys and 4 girls, in Iowa, my grandfather wasn't in the picture anymore and when my Grandma died the kids all faught! The 4th in line moved to Tennessee to get away from it all. The 3 oldest fought with the 2 youngest over who was to get what, all of a sudden the 2 youngest pick up and move to Tennessee as well with all of her belongings & the money for the sale of her house. Needless to say the 2 youngest are hated by the 2 oldest, the 3rd & 4th in line save face with all the others, but do talk to all of them for family's sake. The 2 youngest are still on the run, now in California and dont speak to the 2 oldest. Not even at funerals. It is sad, but history has repeated itself yet again. I am just wondering if any other Wilshires out there have a similar background. It sucks, but it is my LIFE!
